Franz Seiser

Franz Seizer, Vice President Core Network and Services, Deutsche Telekom AG.

Franz holds a M. Sc. degree in electrical engineering from Technical University Vienna.

Franz started as System Engineer for PBX software 1996, focussing on Enterprise VoIP issues from 1998, being based in Europe and U.S. (Silicon Valley).

He joined mobile communications industry mid 2000 (max.mobil. in Austria, renamed to T-Mobile Austria later) for preparations of 3G, i.e. license auction, vendor selection and contract negotiations.

By end of 2002 he started to focus on mobile core-network related mid- to long term issues. This included work as a delegate in 3GPP standardisation.
Early 2006 he moved to T-Mobile International headquarters in Bonn to work as Head of Core Network Architecture, responsible for mid- and long term evolution of T-Mobile core networks across Europe.
He was taking part in the NGMN-initiative right from its beginning in late 2005 and stayed involved in LTE/EPC architecture related issues up until today.

Driven by Deutsche Telekom’s “one company” project to combine fixed and mobile operations, during 2010 Franz extended his personal horizon to include fixed networks as well. Since Jan 1st, 2013 he is in charge to drive the development of innovative and efficient network architectures for DT in the areas of core network and service enabling.
